Buying a Home Sight Unseen

In a market where the best homes are selling in days, more buyers are making offers on homes without visiting the home in person. Some buyers can’t wait until their schedule allows for a showing. According to the National Association of Realtors, homes are going under contract nearly twice as fast as they were only three years ago. The proliferation of property information, photos, videos, and neighborhood data is giving buyers more confidence to bid on homes without visiting them in person. This is more common with second homes where buyers are in a different country or state. Buyers who make offers sight unseen will often visit the home after the contract is signed, before completing the purchase.
